Millennium Prize Problems in Mathematics

Monday, January 26th, 2015

The Millennium Prize Problems are seven problems in mathematics that were stated by the Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000. As of October 2014, six of the problems remain unsolved. A correct solution to any of the problems results in a US $1,000,000 prize (sometimes called a Millennium Prize) being awarded by the institute. The Poincaré conjecture was solved by Grigori Perelman, but he declined the award in 2010.

Nothing is solid: This is the world of Quantum Physics

Monday, January 26th, 2015

Nobel Prize winning physicists have proven beyond doubt that the physical world is one large sea of energy that flashes into and out of being in milliseconds, over and over again.

Nothing is solid.

This is the world of Quantum Physics.

They have proven that thoughts are what put together and hold together this ever-changing energy field into the ‘objects’ that we see.

So why do we see a person instead of a flashing cluster of energy?

Think of a movie reel.

A movie is a collection of about 24 frames a second. Each frame is separated by a gap. However, because of the speed at which one frame replaces another, our eyes get cheated into thinking that we see a continuous and moving picture.

Think of television.

A TV tube is simply a tube with heaps of electrons hitting the screen in a certain way, creating the illusion of form and motion.

This is what all objects are anyway. You have 5 physical senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste).

Each of these senses has a specific spectrum (for example, a dog hears a different range of sound than you do; a snake sees a different spectrum of light than you do; and so on).

In other words, your set of senses perceives the sea of energy from a certain limited standpoint and makes up an image from that.

It is not complete, nor is it accurate. It is just an interpretation.

All of our interpretations are solely based on the ‘internal map’ of reality that we have, and not the real truth. Our ‘map’ is a result of our personal life’s collective experiences.

Our thoughts are linked to this invisible energy and they determine what the energy forms. Your thoughts literally shift the universe on a particle-by-particle basis to create your physical life.

Look around you.

Everything you see in our physical world started as an idea, an idea that grew as it was shared and expressed, until it grew enough into a physical object through a number of steps.

Eunoia II (Beautiful thought; 아름다운 생각 ll) from Lisa Park

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Brain power” takes on a literal meaning when it comes to EEG painting, mind-responsive furniture, and the work of Lisa Park. Park combines EEG scanning with speakers and pools of water to visualize her thoughts and emotions. Last year, she exposed her brain patterns to the world with Eunoia, in which she placed five water-filled metal plates atop speakers designed to respond to her real-time brain data. In that project, Park sorted the data into five emotions—sadness, anger, desire, happiness, and hatred, one per plate. But the latest iteration of the project takes the experiment to the next level:

Eunoia II is outfitted with 48 vibration pools, inspired by the 48 emotions philosopher Baruch Spinoza outlined in his book, Ethica, like frustration, excitement, engagement, and meditation. Each speaker vibrates according to Park’s brain wave-interpreting algorithm, which transforms intense signals from Park’s Emotiv EEG headset into intense vibrations in the pools of water. Here, Park is literally putting her inner struggles on display, and the whole show depends on how she deals with her feelings.

“I started working with biosensors especially EEG headset, because I questioned “how can I take this invisible energy and emotions and make it visible?” Park told The Creators Project. “When I am feeling certain emotions (anger, sadness, happiness), I believe that what’s inside me, more than 60% of water in human body, will create vibrations/energy within myself. So, I wanted to create an artwork that represents the inner part of myself.”

Eunoia II metaphorically gives Park’s inner self faculty and visibility, continuing the exploration she began in her first Eunoia performance, tenfold.

How number PI sounds / Как звучит число ПИ

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015

Musician David MacDonald has assigned numbers in order to A-minor scale and… played number PI to 122th position after decimal point, and added left-hand harmonies.

Музыкант Дэвид МакДональд приписал цифры по порядку нотам ля-минорной гаммы и … сыграл число ПИ – до 122-го знака после запятой, добавив левой рукой гармонии.

Proof That Consciousness Creates Reality: Welcome To The Matrix

Sunday, January 11th, 2015

article-imageBy Steven Bancarz| Does consciousness create the material world? Before we answer this question, it’s important to first go into what the material world is actually composed of at a fundamental level. “Reality” is not simply made of tiny physical pieces, like a bunch of marbles or tiny little bowling balls. Molecules are made out of atoms, and atoms are made out of subatomic particles such as protons and electrons which are 99.99999% empty space and electrical spin. These are then made out of quarks, which then are a part of a Superstring field which consists of vibrating strings that give rise to fundamental particles based on the nature of their vibration.
We interact with a world of physical objects, but this is only due to the way our brains translate sensory data. At the smallest and most fundamental scales of nature, the idea of “physical reality” is non-existent. From the Nobel Prize winning father of quantum mechanics Neils Bohr, “Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real. In quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you yet, you don’t understand it well enough.” When you touch your hands together, it is really just empty space touching more empty space, with the slightest ingredient of energetic spin of these minuscule particles. The constituents of matter have absolutely no physical structure.

The most significant book of civilization

Friday, January 9th, 2015

An external resentment towards someone is a result of your defeat to your own Animal nature. The feeling of resentment indicates that you’ve been wrong towards yourself in the first place. Distrusting oneself and doubting arise from the Truth ignorance, whereas the Truth ignorance arises from unwillingness to look inside oneself for the Truth. The Truth is Life or Death.

Fear of the Truth, which fear originates from the Animal nature, distorts the Truth and endeavours to hold it away. Nevertheless, the Truth is inevitable, no matter what choice is made by a Human. Even a dungeon cannot deprive the lucid Soul of its freedom, and no earthly power can liberate an animal doomed to death.

Creating Objects On Demand With Programmable Matter

Wednesday, January 7th, 2015

What if you could fax someone a real, three-dimensional object? The solution might come in the form of programmable matter – a material that takes on predetermined shapes and can change its configuration on demand. We’re already seeing early prototypes coming from Carnegie Mellon and Intel in the form of “claytronics.” So what’s in store for this technology, and why should we be excited about it? If you had a vat of claytronic atoms in front of you, what’s the first thing you’d build with it?
